Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test Day 3 Live score: Sri Lanka set 339-run target for Bangladesh to chase

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test Day 3 Live score: Catch live score and updates of Day 3 of the second Test between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh here.

Bangladesh have been hopelessly outplayed by Sri Lanka on the second day and the visitors start Day 3 with a healthy 312-run lead. Considering the way they folded in their first innings, even getting Sri Lanka out for cheap early in the first session does not guarantee victory for the hosts. Roshen Silva starts on 58 with Suranga Lakmal at the opposite end. Bangladesh would have to break the record for their highest ever run chase in Test cricket already if they are to pull of an unlikely victory here. On the other hand, it would be a welcome series win for Sri Lanka after the pummeling they suffered at the hands of India both home and away. GONE! Tamim Iqbal dismissed by Dilruwan Perera, Bangladesh 3/1
The first one bites the dust. Tamim reviews it immediately, there is no bat on ball and the impact is umpire's call. Bangladesh lose their opener

OUT! Rangana Herath is the last man to fall, Sri Lanka all out for 226
Herath falls off the very next ball and Sri Lanka have set Bangladesh a target of 339 to win the match and the series. Roshen Silva walks back unbeaten on 70. He has ensured that Sri Lanka remain on top as they come out to bowl. Bangladesh batting the match to a draw over the next two days seems highly unlikely so we can expect a result from this match. Sri Lanka have the clear upper hand but ruling out Bangladesh at their own home turf is a folly

GONE! Suranga Lakmal falls while trying to accelerate, SL 226/9
Lakmal was stranded on 9 for some time but then raced his way to 21 before being dismissed by Taijul Islam

Sri Lanka 218/8
After a period in excess of 30 minutes that brought one run, Lakmal nicks one between first and second slip and it races away to the boundary. That right there is a summary of how the first session has gone so far for Bangladesh

Sri Lanka 213/8
Roshen has moved to 69 off 127 and Sri Lanka's lead just keeps stretching. There has been one four so far but, more importantly, for the visitors, no wickets have fallen.

Day 3 starts, Sri Lanka 200/8
Bangladesh are a team that can boast of recording a win over Sri Lanka away from home and Australia at home but they have looked anything but a side that can justify those claims. They have been clueless against what has to be the weakest Sri Lankan team to have toured the country since Bangladesh started playing the longest format of the game. They will be looking to get Sri Lanka dismissed for as few runs as possible before facing the daunting task of chasing down a 300-plus total in the fourth innings of a match that has been all too kind for the bowlers
