Google has launched this amazing app for your Android smartphone - Check how to make the most use of this new feature that will definitely boost your Social Media!
In a first, the Motion Stills app for smartphones with Android OS will get support for augmented reality stickers soon. The Motion Stills app allows users to add these AR or Augmented Reality stickers to videos. This will definitely come in handy when for the users who use social media a lot. Previously, on Google Pixel smartphone's default camera app these AR stickers were seen. But it should be noted that smartphones with Android 5.1 or later can avail this feature by just downloading the Motion Stills app from the Google Play Store.
Launched in 2016, the Motion Stills app was first available for the Apple ecosystem i.e. iOS users. Motion Stills app has features that allow the users to change the Live Photos into GIFs. However, it should be noted that until July 2017, Google did not release the app for Android ecosystem. At the same time, Google Pixel 2 got the support for the AR stickers. Users got the ability to insert AR versions of characters from popular movies or TV shows directly into pictures and videos.
Google explains a user needs to touch the viewfinder to place virtual 3D objects on static or moving horizontal surfaces allowing them to interact with a dynamic real-world environment. Google is able to do it by taking advantage of gyroscopes and accelerometers in a smartphone. Users can also record and share the clips as GIFs and videos.
The update of Motion Stills app works fine with any Android phone with 5.1 or later OS and on any recent device with a gyroscope.
How to download and use Motion Stills app on Android smartphone:-
First, download Motion Stills app from the Google Play Store.
Second, make sure you have the updated version of the app.
Third, open the app, and look for 'AR Mode' on the left.
Fourth, After clicking on the 'AR Mode' an array of 3D characters will open up.
Fifth, the app will then request you to place any of the 3D characters on a surface. It is interesting to see that you can use only one character at a time.
